Bobby D. Hicks, Minister

Bobby D. Hicks was born on May 8, 1959 to the late (Thomas E. Hicks) and Eloise C. Hicks. During his childhood, he was nurtured in the Washington, D.C. area and also attended the public school system there. In 1976, he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. In 1977, he was given the opportunity to preach his first sermon under the leadership of his Pastor, the late Rev. James T. Gilchrist. After two years of faithfully serving in the church and maturing in his discipleship, Pastor Gilchrist ordained him into the Gospel Ministry in 1979. As the first licensed and ordained minister from within New Home and the first son of the church, he was also given increased responsibilities and selected to serve as the Assistant Pastor from 1982-1984. In 1984, New Home was without a Pastor and Rev. Hicks was selected to lead the congregation until such time the church would call for the next Pastor. In 1985, New Home selected their fourth Pastor and since that time, Pastor Hicks has been privileged to lead and serve the New Home congregation.

Pastor Hicks has been blessed to teach and preach at home and in many places and New Home has continually experienced the grace and favor of God. Under his leadership, other leaders have been appointed and called to Kingdom service as Deacons, Deaconesses, Trustees, Ministers and Teachers. Many lives have been challenged and changed for the better. Additionally, the church has burned mortgages, purchased property for future growth and has been actively engaged in both local and international outreach ministries.

Pastor Hicks has been married to his lovely wife, Tyonnie G. Hicks since 1983 and together they share two sons, Jeremiah and Aaron. Tyonnie is a dynamic teacher and is very involved with the work of ministry as she stands with her husband.

The church's motto is Finding... Feeding... Fencing...
